“The only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking you've got to have a what-the-hell attitude.”

I grew up in an American Italian household with parents that truly enjoyed cooking. With a family of 5, we rarely ate out at restaurants. Most would say that’s too bad, but I believe this was the best thing for my sisters and me. We all know how large restaurants food portions are and how many calories and saturated fats are in most restaurants’ dishes, never mind the cost! With my parents always cooking (which automatically makes me a good cook, right?), we regularly ate at home around the dinner table -a tradition that seems to be disappearing :/ I mainly cook Italian inspired foods, but with access to so many great recipes, I’m venturing out and hoping this blog helps me do that! I’m also very inspired by my Sicilian Grandmother. She holds a special place in my <3 and I hope my sisters and I can mimic her cooking one day.
A little more about me:
I'm recently married to my best friend Marcus! I work in Higher Education, in Admissions as well as I'm an adjunct instructor for a College Success Seminar course for undergraduate students. I love sports, my favorite teams are the Boston Celtics, NY Jets, and the NY Yankees (I know how can I be a Boston and NY fan….this happens when you live in CT).
If I had to name some things I couldn't live without they would be: painted nails, the Big E, hip hop /R&B music, my besties, high heels, nachos, fresh clean sheets, lots of sleep, movies, the beach, long hair, garlic, the christmas tree shop, Halloween parties, chocolate, Gram's lasagna, coffee, yankee candles, my sisters, WINE.....okkk I'll stop now, or I'll go on forever on something you don't care about and you just want to see the food!
Hope you enjoy my site and my recipes!
